The Kooperatiben Kontseilua held an emotional ceremony recognising the achievements of more than thirty Basque cooperative companies that have been building a better world from the Basque Country for over half a century.

This event, held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao, demonstrated the commitment of Kooperatiben Kontseilua to increasing the social recognition of the cooperative movement and our contribution to the development of the Basque Country. As highlighted by the Chairman of the Higher Council, Patxi Olabarria: “Cooperatives are a real driving force for social, economic and cultural change. In a world where inequalities are growing, cooperatives have shown us that it is possible to distribute wealth more fairly, putting people at the heart of their activity.” The Chairman of the Advisory Council, Patxi Azpiazu, received the award on behalf of the entire Onnera Group.
